Frequently asked questions

I am having problems at work. What can I do?

If you are experiencing difficulties at work because of endometriosis, you may want to contact us for a copy of our leaflet for employers. We have produced this leaflet to highlight some of the issues involved with endometriosis in the workplace. We want to make employers aware of some of the options available to them, to work with their employee with endometriosis and reduce the impact that endometriosis has on their work. You may have a union or someone in your HR department who you can go to for advice, in confidence. Endometriosis UK employs women with the condition, so if your employer would like practical advice on managing endometriosis at work, please contact our Chief Executive.

Your employment terms and conditions in your contract or staff handbook should explain the company’s procedures on discipline, grievance, and sickness absence. In addition, you can contact your union, HR department, or ACAS ( www.acas.org.uk/ - 08457 47 47 47) for advice.

For advice on any work related issues, try the ACAS website www.acas.org.uk and the Directgov website www.direct.gov.uk/Employment/Employees/fs/en
