Frequently asked questions

How can I go private?  Find a clinic in my area?

Anyone can be seen as a private patient, either by being referred by their GP or self-referring to a consultant. You may wish to take up private health insurance or just pay outright for your treatment.  Many private insurance companies will only pay for consultations or treatment if the patient has been referred by their GP. If you self-refer, you may not receive payment from the private insurance company. Please check this with your private insurance company. It is also worth noting that some private doctors will only see patients who are referred to them from a GP and will not accept self-referral. Please ask your GP for more information. You can use the internet to search for clinics in your area and the interests of the consultants.
